What Are Dental Veneers?
Veneers are wafer-thin pieces of custom-made porcelain that are bonded to your natural teeth to try and improve their symmetry, shape, or colour. At Hunter Dental, our Markham dentists use veneers to try and create a more uniform smile for our patients.
How Veneers Work
Your dentist will take an impression of your teeth which will be used to create your custom veneers.
Once your veneers have been made, they will be bonded to the fronts of your natural teeth.
Usually made from a very thin piece of porcelain, veneers are custom-shaped to match your tooth. The porcelain tries to imitate the natural translucency of tooth enamel and should have a natural look and feel.
More About Dental Veneers
If you are looking to improve the shape of individual teeth or the evenness of your whole smile, you may want to consider dental veneers as a less-intrusive alternative to dental crowns.
Conditions that dental veneers might resolve include worn, crooked, or discoloured teeth. They might also reduce unwanted spacing and change the size of your teeth.
Dental veneers might last for many years if cared for properly.
Lumineers® in Markham
At Hunter Dental, we offer Lumineers to our patients.
Lumineers can usually be placed with little to no removal of tooth structure, which should make them a minimally-invasive cosmetic option for improving the look of your smile.
