The Hunter Dental Team
What should I expect on my first visit?
If your first visit is a comprehensive exam it will last an hour and a half. During the first 30 minutes our Treatment Coordinator will take digital pictures of your mouth and a full mouth series of x-rays. The full mouth series consists of about 12 x-rays that will be used diagnostically for five years. In the last 60 minutes Dr. Hunter will be present to review all of your pictures and x-rays, and he will perform a complete oral exam (which entails your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints and muscles, and oral cancer screen).
You also will complete forms detailing all of your medical information, so please remember to bring a list of all current medications and allergies.
What happens after my first visit?
If Dr. Hunter finds that your oral health is fine, our next step is to set up a visit with one of our hygienists. However, if Dr. Hunter needs additional time to discuss your present oral health status, a private consultation will be scheduled with him, at no charge. At this consultation he will review all treatment options with you. We will then schedule time to complete the treatment option that you decide is best for your situation.
What if I recently took x-rays at my former dental office?
Once at our office, you can sign a release form that allows your former dentist to mail us any current and up-to-date x-rays.
If you have any questions, or if you would like to book your first appointment by phone, please call us at 905-294-3444 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
